I don't know if you know who you are until you lose who you are.

천사는 누구의 말처럼 없을지도 몰라요.

하지만 나는 있다고 생각해요. 
처음에 저는 착한 일을 하고 싶었어요. 
할 줄 아는 것도 아무것도 없거든요. 

그래서 하나라도 잘 하고 싶은 게 있었으면 했어요.
그래서 그냥 친구의 이야기를 들어 주는 것이 거의 저의 일이 였어요.

근데 친구는 그게 좋은가 봐요. 
나쁜 말을 잘 못하는 나는 칭찬과 위로를 해 주었어요.

그때 친구가 날 천사 같다고 했어요.
난 "천사"라는 말이 좋았고 더 천사 같아 지려고 노력을 했어요.

근데 난 내가 천사 인줄 알았는데 친구가 더 천사였어요.
천사라는 것은 누가 먼저인지는 따질 필요는 없을 것 같아요.
우리의 마음속에는 천사와 악마가 있다고 하니까요.

"페이스북"과 "트위터"도 시작하고 친구들도 많이 생겼어요.

그러면서 힘들게 고생하는 친구를 알게 되었어요. 

하지만 도와 달라고 이야기를 하지 않는 거에요.그리고 숨기는 거에요. 

그때, 저는 가까운 사람 중에도 어려운 사람이 있다는 것을 알게 되었고 

가까운 사람들을 도와주기 시작했어요. 

솔직히 저도 남을 도와 주는 것에 한계에 왔어요. 

하지만 

어렵고 힘든 상황 속에 있는 사람에게 

그 사람의 이야기를 들어주고 어려운 점을 돌보아 주고 부족한 점을 채워주는 것이 

참 사람 다운 것 같습니다. 

10억 자산을 가지고 만원을 어려운 이웃과 나누지 않는 사람의 삶과

150만원 월급을 가지고 만원을 어려운 이웃과 나누지 않는 사람의 삶 중 

저는 후자를 택하겠어요. 

만원 한 장을 쓰고 행복한 마음을 선물 받을 수 있기 때문이에요.

어려운 사람의 사람은 만원 한 장이 아쉬워 필요한 것을 사지 못해 참아야 해요.

약이 없어 더 아파야 해요. 그때 그 사람에게 만원 한 장은 행복이에요. 

작은 모금을 하고 있지만, 

더 중요한 건 어려울 때 도움을 줄 수 있는 친구가 되어 주는 거에요.
